Brake lights blinker issues

Asked by CKfever25 Dec 23, 2019 at 08:52 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Suburban K1500 LS 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Installed new brake lights and head light assembly
all the way around. all the lights worked for about 2
weeks, noticed yesterday I had no blinkers up front
or back and no brake lights in back, but still had a
3rd brake light. Also my tuning lights on back also
were working. Went to the local parts store, and
ran some parking lot tests. All fuses were good
and all bulbs were good. Notice my blinker symbol
was not lighting up on my dash no mater left or
right position. Also it was not making a clicking
sound. Changed out the signal relay and the
blinker lights in the dash started to work and I had
a clicking sound now. Checked my turn signals
and my front turn signals started to work but the
only thing that works in the back are my running
lights, 3rd brake light when brake is depressed,
and my reverse lights. Still no turn signals in the
back and no brakes.

Sounds like the turn signal switch. The outboard brake lights are wired through the turn signal switch, the 3rd brake light is not. Hope that helps! Jim
