Is it acceptable to put a battery in my 2000 Jetta Mk4 2.0 GLS that has a CCA of less than 600? I'm in a part of the world that very rarely gets below 15 deg F.

Yeah, but VW also recommends using G12 antifreeze, when--as long as you flush the coolant system first--you can use cheaper stuff without major repercussions. That's what I'm kinda curious about, a lot of times a manufacturer's recommendation isn't strictly NECESSARY.

Point Taken Trick, but 570 is not that much. And you did ask if below 600 is acceptable....and yes it is acceptable. But hey, we agree. It's NOT absolutely critical.
