how do i repair or fix 1999 vw jetta fuel door latch will not release when using switch to release

requires 2 people. 1 to hold the switch, 2nd to have a philips srewdriver or wedge to open the door(not too much pressure, it is plastic) After it is open lube the pin that keeps it locked.
