Hi...I have a 98 VW GTI..the passenger door has been not opening latley sometimes it does sometimes not now just the other day my driver side wouldn't open any ideas on what it could be

try to lubricate the latchs i had the same problem with the rear hatch on my 03 gti

Vw has some issues with the doors, when the door doesn't open give it a little bump just over the handle and if it opens the door lock is getting stuck. sometime you lubricate it and this fixes the problem but sometimes this means you got to change the door lock mechanism soon or the door gets locked permanently and you'll have to break the lock to get it open. i have had many cases like this one.
