My husband and I just found out I am pregnant. Can i use a baby carseat in the back in this car?

I am very attached to my Cabrio (bought this 2002 with 25,000 miles in 2007 and today it has 39,000 miles so we don't put a lot of miles on it) which is in great condition. I wouldn't like to go through the expense of a new car unless i really need to...especially with all the upcoming costs. Can anyone tell me anything current about their experience/opinion of having a newborn in a rear-facing car seat in the back seat of my Cabrio?
