I just bought a 1999 VW Cabrio convertible. How do I open the trunk? I can't seem to get the key to work. Thank you

Lift the cubbyhole just behind the emergency brake. My 2001 convertible cabrio has a button there that u push. Good luck

hmmm thanks for the suggestion. I just looked and there is no button or lever anywhere around the emergency brake area...and nothing inside the little cubby. I had the trunk open once and I used the key, I can't seem to get it open again. thanks for your help

I had problems with mine too... WD40 did the trick. You need to put the key in press the latch in and out a few times.Also needed to use it on the door locks. Hope this works for you!
