Payment and transfer steps

Asked by GuruHSCYS Jun 27, 2022 at 01:24 PM about the 2000 BMW Z3 2.3 Roadster RWD

Question type: General

How do I go about making a cash/check payment to the seller and how would
I get the title transferred over to me? I'm in St Paul and the seller is in Appleton
Wisconsin. I have found a shipper to work with so I just need to know how to
get the deal done.

You send the seller a certified check. When the check clears the seller will release the vehicle to the shipper with the signed title. When the vehicle and title gets to you, take the paperwork to your local Motor Vehicle Agency and transfer the title to your name. You will also pay sales tax to your home State when you transfer the title and register the vehicle. You don't pay sales tax to the seller directly! I would also suggest adding the vehicle to your insurance policy before it's picked up. Hope that helps! Jim
