99 Astro

Asked by James Sep 23, 2019 at 12:22 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Astro LT Extended RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 99 Astro is doing it again This Anti-theft security module is going to shit
again. Does any one know some one who can fix these things or is there a
way to eliminate it so it will run?

Had a 99 chevy full size conv van with same issue. With engine running pull the security fuse on fuse block. The security light on cash will stay on while running but security feature will be disabled. If u ever run the battery dead or replace it u will have to reinstall the fuse to start it & then remove it again to disable the security feature

I forgot to also tell u if the security module ever goes bad with fuse pulled it will still start & run but if the battery ever dies or u don't keep 12 volts on the van while changing to a new battery you'll still have to buy a new module before u get it to start again. Always keep 12 volts connected to the van & your good to go even with bad module
