2001 Mercedes e320 sedan

Asked by Furcht Jul 20, 2016 at 01:17 PM about the 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E 320

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a "steering gear oil" message. Where do I
check this oil level and where do I add oil. Is there
anything else that can cause this warning? Thanks
for any advice.

Thanks for the response. My vehicle is a 2001 E320 gasoline, non-turbo. From what I've researched so far the steering gear oil is different than power steering fluid. I believe it is oil that is in the steering rack but I don't know how the check or add oil.
