Heat issues with 2000 Malibu

Asked by gemyers08 Feb 19, 2015 at 10:58 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Malibu FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The heat turns on and shuts off on it own
and usually it's only on for a few minutes
if that. We replaced a water pump but its
still turning on and off on it's own.

Sound,s like the blend door actuator in the heater box under dash,is not locking in,it is vacumed controled, check for vacume leak,s under dash, around heater box,all so check the control panel vacume line,s in dash,if lose or brittol will cause this to.
