Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I start the car and put it in drive the" traction Active" light comes on and the car won't accelerate. I have to push the "Turn Traction Off button" for the car to move, then the ABS, Traction off light , and service traction control come on the dashboard. My service garage wants to disengage the system completely. Is there a better option so I don't loose the traction control?

Check your wheel/hub speed sensors for frayed, damaged, or cut wires. The sensors could be gummed up as well. All of those systems look at the speed sensors to function properly.
