Limp mode n major transmission fluid leak

Me C230k Sports Avant Garde of 12 obedient n faithful years has finally ended
up in the operation theatre for major surgery on the clutch plates.. Symptoms
involved limp mode unable to move, major fluid leak, does not shift gear only
stays on 2nd, no dipstick and all these would take a week to fix n would cost
me an atomic bomb?!!

My question was.. having those crappy symptoms is it true they were due to the damaged clutch plates and does it take a whole week to fix?
