Asked by RudeMerc Jul 23, 2016 at 10:49 AM about the 2004 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 230 Kompressor Sedan

Question type: General

I been told that the BMW 335i beats the M3 just by remapping its ECU or
chipping ECU,  performance wise.. is that so?

The M's way more car than a 335i, better entry level BMW after 7 series It's hard to drive the others. A chip or reflash is not going to make a 335i into a low cost M3 or out power it. Lots of info read up for a few days.

Horsepower alone is not the answer. M3 is far superior in many ways.

Not an expert on this, but, from what I've read the M3 will probably cost you more to maintain, repair etc. Is that what you want?

Yes but the it's called the M3 when frens ask what u drive.. I.e. the KIng of 3 series, surely sounds all diff from ermm.. I drive a 335I or 335I that can be faster than an M3 just short of a chip lol. But there are also other things such as the bucket alcantra stitched. seats, air vents, n quite a few other goodies.. is it worth putting in the extra USD15k for the M3?? End of the day, I think it's individual very heavily counts on how heavy them piles of extra in ur pocket u can splash out, no? Really wonder what would the ratio be say outta a group of 100 high performance cars enthusiasts

Sorry it was meant for E93, the hardtop version cabriolet. I guess the extra money goes towards being the original version
