I found a small plastic tube that is disconnected in the trunk of my 1998 c230 Mercedes

Asked by Savana_1828 Feb 04, 2017 at 06:22 PM about the 1998 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 230 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My locks have not been working ever since I
disconnected the battery but I did find a short plastic tube
that was disconnected.. It probably got unplugged when I
was disconnecting the battery ..... My question is: do
these locks on a 1998 c230 work by  vacuum and if so
where do I plug it into? The tube comes out right next to
the spare tire

Thank you

The tube may be a drain for the trunk lid gutter but if your old battery had a vent it may have been attached to the battery. In either case the tube should go to a hole in the trunk floor so it drains outside.
