I have a 2006 dodge ram 3500 4x4 with a 6 speed tranny. My gears are going out in my transmission and dont have the money to get it rebuilt. My buddy has a 5 speed transmission out of a 95 dodge 3500 4x4. Will it bolt up to my truck or am i going to have to spend the 2500 to get mine rebuilt?

You can make this swap. Bell housing is the same on both transmissions. The five speed will not be as strong at the six speed we use today.

The 5 and six 6speed transmissions out of the 2nd gen trucks are 5 times stronger than the getrag G56 in your 2006 truck, you should try and make an honest effort to find an NV5600 6 speed so that you retain your top speed and on highway fuel economy.
