98 dodge 3500 4wd auto v10 140xxx, check gauges light came on.

showed increased temp. added gallon 50/50 coolant in reservoir. temp resolved. 5 minutes later check gauges light on again oil gauge bouncing between 0 and 40. immediately checked oil and added to fill. in the next 15 minutes  oil gauge bounced 3 0r 4 more times then went to zero and stayed there was within 1 mile of home so continued home. what might be going on with my truck and where do i start to fix it?

It sounds like you have a bad ground somewhere on your guage cluster. The guage cluster ground wires are usually orange. If you can get to a buldle that does to your guage cluster or you have the expertice to remove the guage cluster, splice into all the grown wires and ground them. I'm 90% sure that will fix your problem!
