I am very new to this arrangement. they are nothing like the old school transfer cases of yore. everything is electrical with vacuum assist in some cases. under the battery there is a front axle actuator, behind the pass foot area is a transfer case control module, the actual case has an electrical position shift motor very big$ as is the TCCM. and the dash 3 button switch. all that is connected w/ wiring and vac lines. connections can go bad. I have found utube a great source of information about just about anything. warning, do not try shifting the transfer case motor w/o vacuum. it can be ruined- new price+$400!!!! again, I know almost zippo about these things. I am starting to appreciate my 72 c-20 more and more every day. 10 mpg ain't so bad when you think about it. a key and a gas pedal. that's all I need.
