I have a 2006 dodge ram 2500 5.9 cummins can Rev truck up and it don't idle back down smooth I guess you could say it skips back down and on the Rev up it puffs out a little black smoke. Truck is stoc

is there a check engine light on,your going to have to find someone with cummins insight and hook it to a lap top to see engine trouble codes otherwise its a hugh guessing game,do not use starting fluid and if you did that was'nt smart you can try priming the fuel system it could be air,
there is a code reader by otc that i have but it just reads codes you can find it on line under heavy duty otc scan tools its a start in the right direction
