Brakes?

Asked by Hunter Aug 30, 2017 at 01:35 AM about the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ive got a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer 4DR LS, I'm having issues with grinding on
the front brakes and its raised a few questions before i get it done. First one
being; Ive never used the truck in 4wd so im curious if the brakes need to be
changed in the back as well as the front, since im only hearing it come from
the front. Secondly, which set of wheels does it rely on for braking as well as
acceleration, when im driving in 2wd? Thanks for you help!

if it only grinds when you use the brakes then thats probably what it is , a visual inspection or new set should take care of it , there's nothing to pull the caliper back once you apply pressure all it does is relax , if the calipers are old and worn it may cause the problem , are the front wheels dark from brake dust ?
