Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My AC just started to intermittently work. I never knew for sure if it was going to work when I got in the truck.
The last time it worked, I was stopped at a light and it just started blowing hot air. Does this have something to do with the TIPM?
How can I test the AC unit to make sure the clutch is engaging?

This can also be caused by low freon levels. You may want to add freon with dye, run it for a while, then use a black light to see if the dye appears anywhere along your a/c system under the hood. If you see dye then you have a leak.
