Compressor only works sometimes

Asked by Notsosuperhero Feb 04, 2015 at 08:11 AM about the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer LS 2-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 Chevy blazer and just
recently the compressor stopped
blowing air but when I let it sit
overnight the air will work perfectly
fine I checked power going to the
compressor and there is power going
to it. I just have no clue as to why it
works sometimes and not others. I
plan on buying a new car soon but
lately this winter has been frigid,
hence why I don't want to bring it a
shop and be charged an arm and leg
for this. Any help is greatly
appreciated.

The compressor doesn't blow air. Is your blower motor not working or the ac not working?

Sorry for that I meant blower motor it works sometimes, for instance last night I started my car and it worked perfectly fine I went to the store and then when leaving the store started my car and wasn't blowing any air

Next time it doesn't work, leave it on and tap it a few times to see if it will kick on
