My truck does not shift into first gear when I come to a stop. It will also NOT shift all the way into drive. Any ideas on helping me diagnose this problem?

What do you mean by not shift into drive? Have to play with shifter for it to engage? What color is your trans fluid? Is fluid level full? Might be time for a fluid and filter change. Also some ram trucks have electrical solenoids in the trans that make them change gears. If one is going bad it may act this way.
