Not cranking

My 97 dodge ram 2500 just stopped on me while
driving but I've taken the fuel line lose from where
it goes in and getting fuel and checked for spark
have both. But will run while spraying starter fluid
in it

It seems that there is not enough pressure in the fuel line. The pump may be defective or the fuel filter clogged. You can do a fuel line pressure test. I would start by replacing the fuel filter.
