Lamp out light blinking

Asked by Robert Sep 10, 2020 at 09:47 PM about the 2005 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently replaced my headlight assemblies on my truck.  Everything was
working fine before I replaced them.  Now when I use my turn signals and my
running lights or my headlights are on, my Lamp Out indicator will blink 4 times.
When my lights aren't on and I use my turn signals everything works fine.  This
happens on both sides.  Any ideas?

Me too! Replaced both stock headlight assemblies and driving lights with stock assemblies. Headlights off, turn signal or hazard lights work fine. Headlights on and the turn signal/hazard lights trigger the light out lamp and chime. I have noticed that the turn signal is dimmer front and back with the headlights on, and seems to flash faster too. All the lights work. Guess I will try the remove/reinstall route to see if it makes a difference.

I had the same problem when I replaced both headlight assemblies. I narrowed the problem to the amber turn signal sockets that came with the new light assemblies. I put the original sockets in and it corrected the problem.
