I want to eleminate the need for a ship key in my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500
what do i need to do this? i just want to make regular keys without chips so i
can use this vehicle on my property

You're not going to make an offroad vehicle out of that electrical nightmare. Maintain the truck as it was intended. That's the best advice you're going to get.

The chip key is part of the security system and cannot be disabled or bypassed if you still want it to run. But the good news is you can program additional keys to the vehicle yourself if you have two keys that already work. Normally up to ten keys can be programmed to the vehicle which should be more than enough. Hope that helps! Jim

One mecanic told me i coudl probably install a "Transponder Immobilizer Bypass for Chip Key Module - normally made for Remote Starter" Insert the chip key in the tranponder box then i coudl maybe use non chip keys cut to match and woudl work. but i am not sure on that.
