Slipping out in 4th gear and have to get at to 2 on the tack o meter

What is happening to my 2008 v8 Dodge Ram
when your driving down the road and you put
it in 4th gear it will pop it out of gear 10
seconds later and  you have to get the rpm to
2000 before it goes back in

But 1st 2nd 3rd 5th work great. The 4th gear only does it one time and it will stay in gear and run DowN the hwy

Is it a manual transmission? Then the synchro is shot. That means your tearing the transmission down to replace it, so you might has well replace the other parts and rebuild while it is apart. That way the transmission will be warrantied for a time from the rebuilder. If you don't have the cash, rev it up enough to go from 3rd to 5th and avoid 4th all together. A few week and you will be a pro at it.
