Sqirt some either down the throttle body and see if it fires. If it does you still have a fuel problem. Was the inlet filter (sock) on the old pump full of crud when it was removed? If so, the new one probably is as well. Might be a dirt problem which will make it a pump problem in short order. Now, if it doesn't start on either, then you'll need to dig into the ignition system. But, first things first! Good Luck!
