why wont my truck start?

When I turn the key it turns over. But it wont start. I sounds like it wants to but it wont. Yesterday it didn't want to start because there was no gas, when I put gas and tapped on the gas tank it finally started and worked fine all day. Now today it will not go??

if you ran out of gas, then there is a small chance that you could have burned up your fuel pump. it is cooled by being submerged in the fuel. after the truck has been sitting overnight go out and turn the key to the on position, right before it starts. have someone outside listening for a buzz in the fuel tank. if they do not hear a buzzing sound, then your fuel pump is bad. if there is a buzzing sound then you more than likely are not getting spark.
