Camshaft sensor

2003 dodge ram 1500 V8 4.7

Stalls in the middle of driving at random times, the
truck will run fine for a few days sometimes weeks
and then it will just stall oit of nowwhere. Hooked a
computer up to it said the Camshaft sensor was
bad, replaced that about six months ago. Died on
me so hooked it up again sayin my sensor is bad
again. What cpuld be causing my sensors to fail!
Please any advice is better than no advice lol

if you were getting your sensor from a local parts store then try the dealer some aftermarket electrical parts are not the best quality.

Oil in the wire harness. For some reason these engines are prone to small oil leaks around the cam sensor and the it gets in the wiring harness and throws a code and causes stalling/no start issues.

The dealer sensor fits properly compared to the loose fit of aftermarket that fixed mu truck for awhile now I'm thinking it's the oil throwing the code after reading Brian's post
