Changing brake light

Asked by Stevestruck2003 Oct 08, 2018 at 06:55 PM about the 2003 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've removed the 2 screws that hold the taillight unit on the inside of the
tailgate, which loosens the unit,   It says then to pull straight back quickly to
disengage pins or clips on the outside of the unit.  They are the type of pins
that just push in and lock so you are just suppose to pull hard and straight
and the unit is suppose to release and come out.  I don't know if they are
dirty or what but I can't seem to get them to release.  Any tips or tricks?

Pull harder they're rusty. I've seen them come out extremely hard and loud but they don't break
