If the noise changes with the speed of the blower, I'd pull the Heater fan motor. If the noise is under the hood, it will take a little more digging. I usually change out the fan (squirrel cage) with the blower motor. Don't wait too long to change it out - you can eventually burn out the switch and/or resistor block.

My 2004 dodge ram 1500 keeps burning out blower motor resistors. Last one only lasted a few days. Blower motor still works. Wondering if changeing it and the harness will solve this problem?
