Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7
truck. Just bought it used, the
mechanic had to install a oil dip stick
pole. The problem is when checking
the oil dipstick level it's showing me
it's about 3 inches above the full line. I
measured the length of the dipstick,
it's about 43 inches long. So don't
know what to make of it. Any ideas ?

Drain the oil and change the filter. Install the correct amount of oil and then note where the oil level is on the dipstick or get the right one!

If you do need to replace the dipstick it's Mopar part number 53021673AB. Hope that helps! Jim
