Ram vibration

Asked by GuruXYXRX Oct 08, 2018 at 02:16 PM about the 2003 Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 03 ram 1500 5.7l 4wd. Truck vibrates
when going down the road between 60 an 70 mph.
Gets a little better the faster I go. I replaced upper
and lower ball joints and upper control arms and
outter tie rod ends. Check engine light comes on
but been off for about 3 months. Had tires
balanced and rotated and aligned. Any ideas would
b great. Thanks.

Look up service bulletin TSB 18-48-98 for 1996-2003 dodge ram 1500 RE-ROUTING SPARK PLUG WIRES lot of people mention shaking or vibration at a ceretain speed, my truck shook at 45mph and #8 cylinder was dead and this fixed it.

Might b the u joints in the driveshaft. Even greaseless one sooner or later will have to b changed out. Cheap and inexpensive diy job.
