R u sure the clutch engages when you press the pedal? The easiest way to determine this is just to start the pickup. Unfortunately, each forward gear has a 4 part assembly that makes for the connection to the tranny drive. If the assembly won't move, the answer most likely lies in removal. It's either some failed part in the clutch assy or the tranny itself.

the clutch engages when I press pedal. the shifter will not move in to any gears. I got home in 4th gear which is the gear I was in before it stopped shifting. the Ram listed is incorrect. I have a Dodge Ram 1500, 3/4 ton 2 WD, standard cab

Then you've got an NV4500 tranny stock install. If it won't come outta gear, either the shifter fork is busted or the 3-4 slider is stuck on the #4 gear hub, either way...prolly time to pull the tranny.

2001 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 3.7 L V6 5-speed only goes into first and neutral
