why won't my truck idol?

Asked by Catdaddy213 Dec 30, 2011 at 07:43 AM about the 2000 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I drove it the other night jus fine. I think I might need new plugs or the wires that go to
them. I can start it if I have it to the floor. Its not turning all the way over. A sound like or a
feel to it that its jus not catching. I jumped it already to. No luck yet. Any tips?

Idle air motor on the back of the manifold, I had the same problem last week. About $75 from the dealer. Also check all injector wires for bare or broken wires. Rats, mice, squirrels will cause major problems this time of year. Even over night !

itll start with the gas pedal floored? will it idle after started? and does it die when you put it into gear? i had this problem a month ago, started and drove just fine for 300 miles, next day it gave me preoblems, thought my torque converter was locked up, but and older gentelman told me it was my performance chip, messing with my computer, pulled my chip and everything was ok, if you have a chip or prgrammer pull it

It could also be the timing chain and sprockets are wore and in need of changing.
