dodge ram1500 v8. A/C not working

Asked by Adam May 01, 2016 at 02:11 PM about the 1999 Dodge RAM 1500 WS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought my truck and am slowly having to
make repairs. Now it's a/c time. I haven't taken it to
get checked yet for other reasons, so i tried to just
fill it and see what happens. Well the the knob i
connected to the a/c house started blowing the
freon back out. What is this?

My 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 v8 truck was leaking a/c and I was filling it constantly. A mechanic friend said I had pin hole leaks in several place in the aluminum tubing that goes around the inside of the engine compartment. He bought a new one and filled it with new Freon and it fixed my problem. It was not that expensive to replace the tubing. Hope this helps.
