1998 v8 won't go only reverse working

Question type: General

1998 dodge ram pickup v8 5.2l with 318 engine gas, automatic. It won't go and won't shift
when it does go. Reverse works only. Also overheating

Do you may an you can't get the column to move???put half qrt fluid in it see if it helps.your linkage could be in a bind. Or the transmission is failing

It was moving fine...but transmission was slipping in 1st and 2nd gear...now it just revs up and wont go anywhere...it will but high rpms and wont go but like 5mph. Reverse works fine

I was reading something about the governor celenoid and sensor...and also a band adjustment??

It could be a modulate valve. Its internal.ig f the fluid won't help.it sounds like your pumps are burned.not ed new transmission or rebuilt sorry.hopefully I'm wrong
