Transmission only shifts when cold

I have a Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L automatic.
It never slipped, but wouldn't shift today
when going up a hill. I tried to manually
shift it and it still wouldn't go into another
gear. I let the motor die down and it shifted
easily into gear, no hard shifting or noise. I
got it pulled over and it wouldn't shift
again. Like I said before, I never had any
problems before today. It seems to shift
better when it's cold. Any ideas?

I would try a fluid and filter change and add some Lucas transmission fix. Your transmission is probably old and worn but this might add a little life to it.
