1998 Dodge Ram 1500 not starting.

Asked by alcat2112 Dec 22, 2013 at 11:24 PM about the 1998 Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie SLT Quad Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My husband put 2 bottles of fuel injector cleaner in tank.  1st one with about 1/2 tank gas already in tank.  About a week later he added another bottle when he filled up the tank.  He drove it a few days and it was fine.  When I got in MY truck the next day, it wouldn't start.  Could that be the problem of it not starting?  I told him HE broke my truck and it needs fixed ASAP.  He is in the doghouse right now!

...yes, there is an inertia switch, if you turn the key and DO not hear fuel pressure...someone tapped your bumper and the inertia switch probably just needs to be reset~

alright, you haven't got a trunk, but you could look in your owner's manual for an inertial cutoff....possibly the ASD relay is tripped~
