Truck sputters when I hit the throttle or dies randomly

so my 1996 dodge ram will idle just fine but when I put my
foot on the throttle there are times it will sputter and feel
like its losing power but after a bit it will stop but then
either coming around a turn or just while driving it will just
die what could the most likely problem my truck is having

When was the last time you replace the ignition components, like spark plug wires, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor?
