Can I switch out a 5.2 engine with a 5.7 and if so what will I have to change out

not trying to be picky with you, but you mean the 5.9l 360 right? Depends on the donor engine, are you getting one the same year, from a truck, these things are important to the question.

IF hes looking to transplant a 5.9 in place of a 5.2. he needs the torque converter from a truck with a 5.9, obviously also needs the engine as well. your going to need a 5.9 trucks ECM as well as the TCM. the 5.9 is a much cheaper engine to buy than the 5.7. IF hes looking to go for the 5.7 hes going to need the fully dressed engine with all its electronics, a BCM from what ever year 5.7 hes getting. a transmission and transfercase from whatever year 5.7 engine hes getting and its matching TCM. and then a bunch of labor.

So will a 5.2 out of the same year go back on to the same year work without having to change the computer
