I have a 1996 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.2 I need to know if the tranny from a 1994 dodge with a 5.2 will work in my 96 dodge

The 47RH 4 speed automatic was used in stock1994 and 1995 model years, while the 47RE 4 speed automatic was used from 1996 through 2002. That does not mean they are not interchangeable however

So is it worth buying a 94 for parts for my 96 I lost the reverse in it and can't afford to buy if it won't work

Oww. hard to answer, those I listed are what Dodge put in them, but I do not guarantee they will swap. If you can get a look at both, use a tape and measure the lengths, and bell housing bolt pattern .... the 5-speed NV3500 manual and 5-speed NV4500 manual were also offer on both
