94 dodge ram 1500 5.2L

truck starts well runs good but then it shuts off and wont start for a while then after maybe half hour i start it again and it starts right up and runs good again till it happens again anyone know what might be wrong with it ? ive already replaced the alternator cause it was bad once but idk what else to do to it

The problem with my old truck was the ballast resister overheating. It is a ceramic looking little block on the firewall. Used to keep a couple from a junkyard in the glovebox of my Powerwagon.
