Where is the ECM located?

I found it. On a 1992 it is located on the far right side of the dash behind the dash. Access it by removing the bottom cover and taking the lower dash mounting bolts out. Pull the lower part of the dash to the seat and it slides out with ease. Do not use the wires to pull it out of its hole.

Quite a job to remove the EMC, I have a 1993 and it is located above the glove box. As you stated you need to open up the dash to get at it.
