Check the fuses first, but... I have seen the switch short out and melt on more than one S- 10/Blazer.... I would disconnect the battery and using a small flathead screwdriver, or nylon/plastic panel-popper, try to pop the switch out... Most just snap into the dash, but measure twice cut once, know what I mean? So look around it for any hidden screws, clips, etc that may be holding it in. Never *force* anything that's made out of plastic because plastic gets brittle when it gets old and it WILL break.

it would be like NOT a big deal to change out the headlight relay....if you knew which one that is....look 'pon the drawing on the cover~_____ https://www.google.com/#q=2004+Chevrolet+S-10+headlight+relay

reliable ground connection is paramount...follow the black 1/0 cable from the battery to the spot where it attaches to the chassis ground...unbolt and wirebrush this spot and the lug too so that a 300 cold cranking amp potential can be realized~
