Auto transmission fluid check.

Asked by Nicky Aug 02, 2020 at 12:56 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet S-10 Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 Chevy S10 zr5 four wheel drive auto
transmission. This vehicle has no dipstick to check the
transmission fluid do I have to get down and check it
myself underneath the car where the transmission is at or
is there a certain way to check this?

On an S10, it should be on the passenger side toward the back of the engine. It should be a ring shape to grab, either orange or red color. If it ain't there, it's broken or removed.

Wow I bought a 2017 Colorado and it doesn’t have a transmission dip stick either. It also is 4x4. I asked the dealership and they didn’t know what to tell. So any answers that can solve this please
