How do I check if my fuel pump is bad or not before replacing

Put new cap & rotor,wires & plugs,air filter,MAF & had MAP sensor checked, new fuel filter, all set off due to bad battery[weak] replaced battery. Hindsight20/20 WOW

After the car has sat for a while have someone listen by the fuel filler neck, turn the key on but do not crank, you should here the pump cycle once then stop, if not check fuel pump fuses and relays
