2000 S-10 2.2L engine upgrade

Asked by DryProng Jul 26, 2019 at 10:24 AM about the 2000 Chevrolet S-10 RWD

Question type: General

What engines larger than the stock 2.2L will "drop-in," with no PCU or wiring
harness connection issues?  At what engine size should I consider upgrading
the stock 5-speed manual transmission and other rear-end components?
Thank you.

None. Any time you are installing a different size engine, there will be all kinds of problems. Starting with the motor mounts, exhaust system, Engine Control module, wiring harness, emissions, transmission, etc, etc, etc. This will be an expensive project.

Thank you, Gary. Any idea how much it would cost (approx) to have someone swap out the 2.2 and tranny with handing them everything they need to do the job? It sounds like I just need to rebuild or get a new 2.2. : )
