Won't Start when Wet Outside

Asked by ebuell Sep 16, 2019 at 01:16 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet S-10 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1999 S-10 will not start if wet outside.  Starts very well when dry...  If I take hair dryer to the Coil area, will start fine.  I replaced Coil twice, replaced a gizmo near coil (and wired to coil) and I replaced the wires between Coil and Gizmo.  Same problem....  I heard of others having similar problems and thinking maybe its a common problem with old S10s?  This problem started approx. 6 months ago but never used to have these symptoms....

Replaced plugs, wires, dist cap and rotor. Seems to be fine now. Thanks for all your suggestions!
