By all means, but that is periodic maintenance. you would have to have bought some dirt or contaminated fuel, or you asked before catching up your neglected vehicle. The gas available in some places has proved to shorten the fuel fiter's life to a maximum of 15K, Stay ahead of it. The parts store is cheaper than wall mart, and ac delco is better than most.

A plugged filter can cause hesitation under load, flooring it IS under load. If I suspected the filter, it can be removed and the contents blown back into a jar for examination. Happy crawlin.

I would still be differentiating between ignition inspections and tests, and pluggy injectors, but you know what is out of date on yours, and what may be substandard aftermarket, or "go fast" parts causing issues. A weak fuel pump can be starving it, flooring it shuts the regulator for max pressure. This is why we ALWAYS run the correct tests during tune and driveability issues. We always recommend the maintenance be kept up. Review your records please and see what is getting neglected. saves you money by preempting it or taking the right steps before it goes awry.
